The balmy days of last week are gone. With Friday night’s rain, a cold front came in that made me put away my sweatshirt jacket in favor of something quite a bit warmer. Saturday afternoon, Wes and I brought in some firewood and lit the first fire of the season. I sat at my sewing machine working on a Christmas tree skirt, watching the flurries, enjoying the coziness of our family room. Wes was cooking butternut squash soup which smelled heavenly. I think I’m going to like being home this winter.

Not as much as I will enjoy having you home.
