There are several blogs that I make it a point to read, if not every day, than at least weekly.  One of these days I’m going to figure out how to post a blog roll on this blog. Yesterday, I followed  a comment on The Pioneer Woman blog ending up at the blog Inside NanaBread’s Head.  I was quite taken with the pictures of the tie dyed cupcakes and immediately checked my baking shelf.  All the ingredients that I needed were there, including gel food coloring, in an unopened package.  Being Wes and I were having company for dinner, it seemed like a good time to bake cupcakes.  At the taste test, the cupcakes were good, not very sweet, but the icing was wonderful.  It took a long time to beat–the recipe says, “beat the living daylights out of  it,” which my mom found very funny, but it was worth it.  I think if I make them again, I will definitely use the icing recipe, but will look for a better cupcake recipe. They sure were pretty though!
