Last Friday was Cathy’s birthday.  Being we were both busy that day, we saved our celebration for yesterday.  We drove to Ellenville, turned left onto Route 52, and drove twelve miles over the mountain to Pine Bush.  What’s in Pine Bush?  A quilt shop, of course.  We had visited Quilters’ Attic many years ago when it was in a different location, but this was the first time in this shop.  The store has lots of fabric, sewing machines, thread, and hanging quilts for ideas.  We spent a happy hour and a half and each left with a bag.  We drove back to Ellenville, stopping to take this lovely picture along the mountain road, and, purely by chance, found a lovely restaurant called Gaby’s Cafe.  Cathy ordered a bean burrito, that when it came out, was as big as her head.  She barely ate a third of it, but pronounced it delicious.  My quesadilla, while not quite as big, was too much for lunch and equally good.  We shared an order of plantains too, and then wobbled out of the restaurant, too full to even look at the dessert menu.  But, after the ride back to Kingston, we managed to find tummy room for a child’s portion of frozen yogurt from TCBY.  If you’re celebrating a birthday, you have to have dessert, right? Right?
