Cathy and I are in Lebanon, NY for a quilt retreat weekend.  The retreat actually starts today at 3pm, but we came a day early.  The sewing room wasn’t set up yet, so we spent a happy couple of hours in our room.  I was hand sewing the binding on a baby quilt and Cathy was ironing on fusible for two different wall hangings.  The retreat covers all our meals, but being we were early, we are responsible for Thursday night’s dinner and Friday’s lunch.  The owner of the bed and breakfast recommended a lakeside restaurant called the Backwater Bar and Grill.  We were seated at a cozy table by the fireplace with a beautiful view of the (still frozen) lake.  We thoroughly enjoyed a large fresh salad with homemade blue cheese dressing.  The dressing was so good, we asked for seconds on it, to finish dressing the salad and ate every drop.  At first, when our meals arrived, we both said we’d end up taking some home for today’s lunch, but we ended up eating it all, and enjoyed every mouthful.  The piece of raspberry cheesecake, which we split, was to die for and the decaf coffee was excellent.  I’d love to go back and eat there again.  Wes? Are you up for a road trip before a dinner out?
