Cathy was back at the quilt retreat in time to have breakfast with us on Sunday morning.  We had a few hours left to sew, so we headed to the machines.  It’s funny, if we were forced to do this to support ourselves, it would be a sweatshop, but being we do it voluntarily, it’s fun.  I am very pleased with what I accomplished this weekend.  I hand sewed the binding on a baby quilt and a small wall hanging, completed the top for a queen size wedding quilt, constructed two wall hangings, and caught up on a Block of the Month I’m doing.  All in all, very productive.  Kate and Karen ( the retreat’s leaders), who did a wonderful job by the way, told everyone about a quilt shop that was thirty minutes away, that was offering at 15% discount to everyone at the retreat.  So, as we headed home, we took a detour north and visited the quilt shop.  I bought backing, batting and binding for the queen size quilt, so it’s all ready to go to the machine quilter this week.  I’ll definitely have it done in time for the wedding. Hooray!   Cathy and I are all signed up for the same weekend next year. I’m already looking forward to it.
