Hudson view

Wes, Bonnie and I went on the annual garden walk on Saturday.  We visited six gardens, three of which were repeats from the past.  We oohed and ahhed and admired.  Some of the gardens were huge undertakings, with multiple flower beds and huge expanses of lawn to mow (one man said it takes him 7 1/2 hours to mow the lawn.)  I preferred the smaller gardens, the ones that look doable, something to aspire to.  Everyone has their “thing”, and while some people can’t understand why I cut perfectly good fabric up, only to sew it back together, I have a hard time understanding why someone would devote their entire waking hours in the nice weather to gardening.  That said, I am very glad I went, and I can appreciate  the amount of labor that goes into some gardens and I will go again next year, of course.

The first picture is a field of bee balm from one of the gardens.  It was impressively filled with bees too.  The second picture is a view of the Hudson River from one of the gardens. This deck was at the bottom of the lawn filled with flower beds, a koi pond and many other garden delights.
