blue fabric

Karim, Nancy and the kids left early yesterday morning.  After the hustle and bustle of our house the past three days, it was way too quiet.  Playing music or listening to the TV didn’t really help–it was the wrong kind of noise.  I was feeling a bit melancholy about them leaving, so I threw myself into a project.  (and no, it wasn’t laundry).  I finished the binding on a baby quilt that I’m giving on Wednesday and started cutting for my August LWH (little wall hanging).  As usual, both Cathy and I replaced a few of the fabrics in the kit, so that’s why I had blue, watery fabric out.  While it was out, it made a good subject for the “blue” of the day.  When I ran errands in the afternoon, I stopped to pick up a reserved book at the library.  I am always impressed by the flowers planted there and couldn’t resist snapping a picture. Usually coneflowers get a bit motheaten looking, but these are gorgeous with no bug holes.  Taking time to smell or snap the flowers always makes my day!
