solitary flower and shadowThere was a broken black-eyed Susan bud in the garden, so I brought it inside and put the vase on the sink by the window.  It took about twelve days for the flower to open. Each day there was a little bit more color showing and now the smaller bud on the stem is starting to open.  Yesterday afternoon, the sun was shining just right through the (new) kitchen window and I just had to snap a couple of pictures.  For the second picture with the shadow, I stood on a kitchen stool with my foot balanced on the sink to get high enough. It worked.
