When Wes planted the morning glory seeds, he mixed several different kinds together. As a result, we have large blue, large white, medium purple and as of Saturday morning, little red (only an inch across) ones. What the red ones lack in size, they make up for in eye-catching color. Notice the pentagon shape and also the star shape in the flower. The leaves are different than regular morning glories which are heart-shaped. These are jagged or saw toothed. Either way, they look great in the garden. We find we can grow morning glories really well.
The second picture is my dinner last night. (Please no comments about the size of the sandwich–it did squish so I could take a bite) I baked eggplant slices and then built the sandwich with mozzarella cheese, fresh tomato, lettuce and mayonnaise. It was yummy! Wes and I talked about hosting a sandwich night while all these fresh veggies are available. I bet some people would really like this sandwich if it had a few slices of bacon added.
I came up with an idea for blog posts. Usually, I’m hunting around each day for a picture source. I’ve decided that if I can’t come up with something special, I’m going to just document my day. This is a slightly different mind set from the way I usually blog–let’s see how it goes.
Both the morning glory and the sandwich look great to me!
