I have been walking with my neighbor, Leslie, all summer. We meet at 7am sharp and walk a circuit that’s about 4.5 miles. It takes a little over an hour and while we walk, we talk about everything under the sun. We have shared stories about our kids, our aging moms, our husbands and of course, cooking and recipes. Leslie had given me her recipe for pear bread a few weeks ago, and while I wanted to make it, I was overwhelmed with zucchini so the pear bread had to wait–until yesterday. I made two loaves and sent one home with Shannon when she picked up Natasha and Andrew. (Andrew “helped” make the bread–which consisted of eating the pears as fast as I cut them up) It’s very yummy and I’m looking forward to many more walks with Leslie and many more recipes shared.
