Cathy and I went to the Bennington, VT quilt show yesterday. In past years, I’ve taken pictures of trees turning color early and some beautiful scenery from the Bennington area. This year it’s one of the quilts at the show. I have a new ruler that makes making half square triangles a cinch. Before I had this ruler, I could never get half square triangles to come out perfect and if they’re not perfect, they won’t fit into a block perfectly, so the block won’t be perfect. Let me say here, I am not a perfectionist, but in some cases “pretty good” or “close enough” just doesn’t cut it. I want it as close to perfect as possible. Before I had this ruler, I would have passed by this quilt without a second glance. This time I took a picture, and am contemplating making a quilt of these blocks, not just like this one, but in a setting of my own, because I can now make half square triangles come out darn near perfect–and that’s a great feeling.
I don’t know the name of the quiltmaker, but I hope she (or he) feels the happy Karma I am sending their way.
Nice quilt! I’m sure you will have fun making one with the fabirics of your choice!
