Wes and I went into town yesterday morning to run some errands. While he was in Smith’s Hardware, I walked to the Mother Earth. I beat him back to the car. Evidently it takes longer to buy paint brushes than it does to buy candied ginger. I set my bag on top of the car and investigated the garden in Smith’s parking lot. There was some very pretty, mum-like yellow flowers, but my eyes were drawn to the sunflowers. The second picture shows a sunflower on the way out, but still impressive. They wouldn’t have lasted two minutes in our yard, due to the squirrels, but I’m not bitter……
