When I said in my last post that Cathy and I were going away for a quilt retreat weekend and I’d post if I could, I never dreamed that I’d be unable to post.  I tried.  The hotel had free WiFi, which my phone logged onto with no problem, but for some reason, my laptop balked.  Every time I tried to logon to a website, I’d get a warning about dangerous actions and someone might steal my credit card numbers.  Not being computer savvy, I just gave up, figuring I’d catch up on Sunday night.

We had a wonderful time.  The retreat was in the Wingate Hotel in Lake George.  The rooms were immaculate and surprisingly roomy.  Our sewing room was very big, brightly lit and everyone had their own table.  My own table–this is a huge thing at a retreat.  There was room to spread out and work without infringing on someone else’s workspace.  Cathy and I shared an iron and small ironing surface between us and still had tons of room.  There was two large tables set up for cutting and three regular size ironing boards also.  And the food—everyone brought something to supplement the dinner planned for Thursday night of ham, macaroni and cheese and green beans.  It turned out to be close to a Thanksgiving feast with all the extra sides.

We sewed, ate, talked, laughed, shopped and made new friends.  And, we signed up to go again the same weekend next October.  I’m already looking forward to it!
