On Sunday, Jonathan, with Natasha and Andrew, and John came here to take down two trees that were close to the side of our house. The birch was dead and had been dropping rotten limbs on the deck all summer. The oak had been hit by lightening and was split in the center, letting water and rot in. With skill and luck, the trees dropped exactly where they were supposed to land, then Jonathan and John cut the trunks up while Wes, Andrew, Natasha and I loaded the wheelbarrow with the chunks to dump by the log lean-to. John set up his log splitter and split some, but he wanted to go watch a football game, so after he left, Jonathan and Natasha took over splitting. Wes and I moved the logs that had to be split closer to Jonathan and moved the already split ones into the pile to be stacked, while Andrew moved sawdust in his Tonka dump truck. All that’s left now is for Wes and me to stack the logs in the lean-to and enjoy the cozy fireplace this winter. Thanks Jonathan and John. You worked hard.
