The tiny spot of yellow is the porch light on the house up the road from us at 7am yesterday morning. I was heading out for my morning walk in the falling snow. The point of light looked so warm and welcoming, I just had to snap a picture.
The second picture has nothing to do with yellow week. When Cathy and I went to the Lake George quilt retreat last fall, several of the women had small ironing boards made from tray tables. We admired them and said we wanted to each make one too. Fast forward to Thursday evening–Cathy and I stopped in Target before our quilting meeting and we each bought a tray table. We have a day long retreat today and we decided to make the mini ironing boards to take with us—-nothing like waiting for the last minute. When Jonathan dropped Natasha and Andrew off on Friday morning, I asked him if he had a staple gun. “Not with me, it’s at home,” was his answer, “What do you need it for?” I showed him the table and he said the underside material was too hard and would be impossible to staple. Plan two: duct tape. I taped my batting and heat proof pad down securely on the underside and made a drawstring ironing board cover that is removable, if it ever needs to be replaced. I now have my own mini ironing board and I can’t wait to try it out.
