While Wes and Corey watched college basketball, Daisy, Desi and I walked to Martha’s Country Bakery to check out their desserts. Actually, Daisy and I walked, Desi scootered, and very quickly. The line in the bakery was very long and folded back on itself, so we had a long time to look, and then decide, what we wanted for dessert.
What I didn’t get a picture of was the display case full cupcakes, any kind you could imagine and probably some you can’t. We selected Napoleans for Wes and Corey, lemon coconut cake for Desi, strawberry shortcake for Daisy and carrot cake for me. I was going to eat only half the carrot cake and take the rest home, but before I knew it, it was gone. Desi took only a couple bites of his lemon cake and decided he didn’t like it. Daisy offered him some of her strawberry shortcake and he had a bite of my carrot cake, but he wasn’t really interested in having dessert. He was much more interested in drawing a park layout with me, complete with a pond, trees, ducks and a whole new made up bird–the colorful kingbird.
All to soon it was time to leave. We hugged and kissed. It had been a wonderful day, building happy memories.
