common reedsWes and I dropped Natasha off at the Saugerties bowling alley to attend a birthday party on Saturday afternoon.  Instead of going home, only to leave again a short while later, we decided to walk to the Saugerties Lighthouse again–this time with Andrew. Again, it was beautiful day with no wind (how did we get lucky twice?).  Andrew loved the walk, staying just far enough in front of us so we had to keep telling him to wait. He threw sticks in the river, squeezed wet sand with his hands and kept looking for fish as we crossed little bridges. Andrew and BumpyAt the lighthouse, he climbed all over the railings to look at the water from all different angles and didn’t like me keeping a grip on his shirt. Jack in the pulpetI found the first Jack in the Pulpit of the year. AndrewIn this picture, he’s balanced on a log over swirling water.  He had a tight grip on the log and would only stay on long enough for me to take one shot.

We finished the afternoon with a trip to Mickey’s Igloo. Andrew ordered “white ice cream with sprinkles,” and we were just in time to pick up Natasha at the birthday party.
