On Saturday, my Thursday night quilting group (are we now an all day Saturday group?) met for a day of sewing. We all brought a project or six and the contents of our sewing rooms and set up for the day. I had done all the cutting for a baby quilt (due in July–I’m early!!) and started sewing 9-patch blocks together. The first picture is the first sets of units, sewn and then recut. The second picture is 9 patches piled up as they came off my sewing machine.
Everyone brought their own lunch and some people brought food to share. There was potato chips, mixed nuts, a cranberry orange bundt cake, brownies and peanut butter bars. (We do eat well–especially desserts) I sewed all 125 nine patches I needed for the baby quilt, as you can see all laid out in the last picture. Now to sew the 9 patches into blocks and put the blocks together to finish the quilt top. I may need a bribe of more cranberry orange cake……
