The top picture was taken from the front of our inn, as the sun was close to setting. I loved the gold on the water and on the buildings across the lake.
We took a nature trail that curved along mud flats at low tide and then up into fields. The cactus was growing on a sandy part of the field. With the lack of rain, it must feel right at home in the desert conditions.
We did some bird watching, not that we could identify warblers, but we did see some.
There is a small aquarium in Point Pleasant. I was very glad the sharks were on the other side of the glass.
This is the Point Pleasant boardwalk which will be much more crowded in another month. There were quite a few businesses open–games of chance, food concessions (we had yummy ice cream) and souvenir stands. Notice the boardwalk. It’s all new since Hurricane Sandy.
The lovely two plus mile boardwalk in Spring Lake, where we are staying, was destroyed two years in row by hurricanes. It’s all rebuilt, better than ever.
Glad your having a good time!
