Wes and I drove to Queens yesterday to collect on Wes’ birthday present from Corey, Daisy and Desi.  Corey had bought tickets to see the Cardinals play the Mets at Citi Field.  Unfortunately, Daisy had to work, so the four of us bought lunch and watched the pre-game action. In the second picture, Corey and Desi are standing close to the fence as the Cardinals are warming up.warming up

The third picture is the the warm-ups.  Notice how the seats in front of us are empty. By the time the game started they were mostly full, except for our row, which stayed mostly empty.  Having our row empty was a good thing as Desi is short, so we could move around to help him get the best views.  This is the third year in a row we have done this for Wes’ birthday, and we have yet to see the Cardinals win. As the saying goes, “Better luck next year.”heart shaped foodWe ate dinner at a restaurant called Press 195.  They had a wonderful sandwich menu and great fries with interesting dipping sauces in addition to ketchup.  My sandwich was a delicious concoction of mozzarella cheese, tomato, basil and eggplant served pressed, Panini style. It was delicious and way too much, so I’m having the second half for lunch today.  Also, notice the heart shape–maybe that’s why I loved it.
