pottery boothBonnie and I went to the Country Living Fair in Rhinebeck yesterday.  It was perfect weather, warm and dry, with some sun.  We got smart this year and brought a small notebook with us to write down what booths we wanted to revisit after seeing everything.   The hanging garden in the top picture caught our eyes in the first building we went into and we ended up going back and each purchasing one.  Mine is turquoise and Bonnie’s is the deep blue to the left of mine in the picture.  It’s a water garden and it comes complete with the ivy plants to grow.  Mine is now hanging in the living room and I’m hoping the cats don’t find it.

The second picture is a pottery display that we both liked, but didn’t buy anything, even though the stuff was beautiful.  Both of us have lots more dishes than we’re ever going to need. wool treesThese little trees are made from felted wool and were about a foot high.quilt picture framesThese picture frames were very interesting.  They are made from usable pieces of old quilts with sayings embroidered on them with a spot for a picture.  The picture here doesn’t do them justice; they were very nice.

As usual, there was lots of antiques, old or old looking jewelry, vintage table linens, inspirational signs, plants,  and some furniture.  Several booths also had weird things made with doll heads–bodies made from cracker containers for example.  We both passed them right by–they were actually creepy.

I did see a set of nesting bowls just like the ones my mother-in-law gave me as a wedding shower gift well over 40 years ago.  They are now antiques as I suppose I am too.
