Cathy and I took a six hour quilt class at Log Cabin Fabrics on Sunday.  We have taken a class from the same teacher, Sue Pritt, before and it’s always a lot of fun.  This quilt is called Snowbirds and it gets several winter feeding birds appliqued on it.  We didn’t get to that part in the class.  Instead, we spray basted the three layers and top stitched the mountains, trees, the little dock with the Adirondack chairs and the campfire.  Some of the snow is already machine quilted and there’s a large tree on the right side which has to be quilted yet along with the large fence.  Then, we can start adding the birds.  We plan on doing a bit more of the machine quilting on our own, then putting the wall hangings away until our quilt retreat in October.  That way, we can work on them together, which is much more fun than slogging through a project alone.  I will be tempted though…..
