I frequently make quilts (especially wall hangings) just because I like the pattern or because I want to try a new technique. The pear quilt, in a bed size version, was on display at the Country Living Fair last year. The pattern and the fabrics it was made from appealed to me, so I bought the pattern, intending to hunt for similar fabrics. Fast forward one year and the Connecting Threads catalog has the pattern, but in small, wall hanging size, as a kit, for a very reasonable price. One week later, I was working on it and I finished the binding this week. Unfortunately, I made a mistake in the checker board border, that I didn’t notice until after it was partially quilted. Being it took me so long to notice it, I hope no one else ever notices (except for Bonnie, who spotted it right away) so I didn’t correct it. (It would have been a major PITA to fix) Bonnie has it now, in all it’s imperfection. It is a happy little wall hanging anyway.
The lily picture is a group I pass on my morning walk. They are just gorgeous and smell good enough to eat.
And, with it raining again yesterday, of course, there had to be a rain drop picture. When the sun comes out, I’ll be sunk for blog pics.
I LOVE IT! Thank you! 💖
