Wes’ sister, Audrey is visiting from Florida for a few weeks. One of the items on her bucket list was a trip to Opus 40. Yesterday, she crossed it off. Audrey, her daughter Cassandra and her grandson Logan traveled down from Selkirk to meet up with Wes, Natasha, Andrew and me. We spent about an hour and an half exploring the rocky paths, walkways and tunnels.
Audrey was inspired and plans on coming back with her sketchbook and possibly paints.
The top picture is a very bad one of Audrey and Wes, but it was the only one I took of them for some reason. I may have been busy snapping pictures of the kids.
As before, it’s at least ten degrees cooler in the tunnel.Success!! They completed the tunnel walk and are headed up into the sunlight.
Logan and Natasha are sporting walking sticks, magic wands or swords, depending on which child you asked. Andrew hadn’t found his yet.
The best comment of the day came from Natasha. As we were looking at the stonework around the fountain, she said, “It must have taken two or three hours to build this.”
