Bonnie and I drove to Connecticut on Wednesday to pick up the quilts Cathy and I had left at the machine quilter 2 1/2 weeks ago. (yes, that’s a really fast turn around time) We arranged to meet with Laura, Owen, Cole and Molly in a park in Newtown, only a few minutes from the quilter’s house. We packed a picnic lunch and shared our food under a tree.
Owen posed for me on the slide.
Cole posed for me on the slide too, but he was winking one eye in his picture, so this one is a better shot.
There was a tree surrounded by a bench, like a giant, dirt playpen and the kids loved it, scooping up dirt in their trucks.
Here the kids are still in the “playpen,” and Molly is grinning for the camera, but notice the adoring
looks on Bonnie and Laura’s faces. There’s nothing like Mom/Grandma love.
To see Bonnie and Laura’s faces better, just click on the picture and it will enlarge. That works for any of the smaller pictures in any post.
Every self respecting 3 year old knows there’s more than one way to play on a slide.
Molly loved being pushed on the swing.
We had such a great afternoon. All too soon, it was time to separate and head for home. The children needed naps, so the 45 minute drive home was snooze time and Bonnie and I wanted to leave before the late afternoon traffic started.
By the way–the quilts are beautifully quilted. There definitely will be more trips to Newtown.
Great pictures Jill! Everyone looks happy! The children are adorable!
