The Last 3

On Sunday, I finished the last three applique blocks for the quilt. I had the birdhouse block done except for the tail embroidery and the tool block just needed to be buttonholed. 
In some ways, this bookshelf block was the hardest one. It was last, so I had to make sure the fabrics I picked fit in with all the other blocks. I ended up picking the vase fabric and then selecting the books and flowers to blend with the vase. I’m still going to write my favorite book title, Outlander, on one of the book spines. Now to pick two sashing fabrics and get the top put together.
Time to start thinking about my next project……
