butter churn blockBeing awake at 4am has its advantages. For some reason, even with the air conditioner on, it got beastly hot in our bedroom overnight. After tossing and turning a bit, I was afraid I’d awaken Wes , so I got up.   I spent some time on my computer (there’s not much new on Facebook at that time of the morning) and put together the stacked mixing bowls, complete with wooden spoon, block.

I also picked out the fabrics for the next block, the butter churn, which you can tell by my outside points, was not my favorite block. I didn’t like the technique for the flying geese part of the block and struggled with it.  There’s a simpler way and I will use that next time, if there are more flying geese segments to be constructed.auditioning fabrics

The next block is six canning jars, each having a silver gray top.  The picture doesn’t show it that well, but these fabrics look nice together. Maizie evidently approves too.
