Wes went to the Saratoga racetrack yesterday with three friends. Not to be outdone, I took Andrew and Natasha to the Robert Post Park in the town of Ulster. It’s right on the Hudson River with lovely views of the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge. We had a peanut butter sandwich picnic lunch and then explored the park.
Natasha is channeling Bruce Springsteen’s Born to Run album, which was released 40 years ago this week. 40 years!!!
There’s two swing sets and the kids could swing really high. Andrew needed a bit of help getting started, but then he pumped all by himself.
The sign says “No Swimming,” but I figured five minutes of wading would be fine. Natasha said the water was really warm.
There’s a nice playground with lots of apparatus for climbing and sliding. The kids also had fun rolling the large ball we brought with us down the spiral slide.
It was a perfect day to be outside and we followed it up with the perfect treat–Ice Cream!
Sounds like a perfect day with the grandchildren!
