Forty four years ago yesterday, I got picked up in The Jug in Woodstock by a man who had just bought a pack of cigarettes from the vending machine. I was with my girlfriend and he joined us at our table for a bit, asked me for my phone number and then went back to rejoin his friends. He called me the next day and asked me out. That date started the rest of my life.
I have always wondered–what if my friend and I hadn’t gone out that night? What if I was busy when he called for the date? Would we have still met or would we both be married to other people now?
I’m very glad we went to The Jug that night. I’m glad I wasn’t busy when he called. I’m glad with all my heart that we did meet. The rest of my life has been wonderful. Love you Wes, with all my fiber and being.
We celebrated our meetaversary with a lunch at Kodomo in Kingston. The picture is of my sushi platter which was outstanding. Wes had Pad Thai, which, while delicious, is not photogenic at all.
Now onto the rest of our lives.
Aww, happy meetaversary!
