On Tuesday, Wes, Andrew and I drove to Hudson to the Fix Brother Orchard to pick apples. We had never been there before, but some family members had. We showed Andrew how to pick by twisting the apple and told him to put them carefully in the bag so they wouldn’t bruise.
Wes lifted him high in the air to reach some really big ones.
All that hard work of picking apples makes a little boy hungry for eating apples too.
We picked three kinds–McIntosh, yellow delicious and honey crisp.
I have never seen trees as loaded with apples as these are.
Andrew adores applesauce, so we cooked a small batch when we got home. Being we picked 104 pounds of apples, there’s lots more applesauce making in our future.
Andrew will remember that fondly!
