Wes and I walked out to the lighthouse yesterday. We packed a simple lunch, tuna for him and a pbj for me, and sat in the sun on the lighthouse deck.
The water was a little choppy when we arrived, but by the time we left, it had settled down.
There is dredging being done on the Esopus.
After a pleasant hour on the deck, we walked back slowly.
After the flowers go, there’s still interesting plants to see. These looked like baby Muppets to me. There is all kinds of dried flowers. These looked soft, but were rather prickly.
We sat on a bench a while and watched three barges going down river.
The wild flowers will be gone for so long, I want to soak up seeing them.
This whole crop of purple was breathtaking.
As we walked, we talked about going somewhere else for a picnic on Thursday. We are soaking up being outside too.
