Yesterday, North Lake was our destination choice for a picnic lunch. With only five cars in the parking lot, we pretty much had the place to ourselves.little yellow flowers
These little yellow flowers are blooming all over in the grass and while I looked at my field guide, I can’t decide what it is.

This yellow one was blooming near the above yellow flower, but there wasn’t nearly as many of these.  I like how the shadow of the stamen shows in the picture.purpleNew York Aster  view toward South LakeThis picture is looking toward South Lake. rootsAt the same spot as the South Lake picture, there was a dead tree.  It was neat that all the dirt was gone from the roots, so the root structure was visible.
