Yesterday, North Lake was our destination choice for a picnic lunch. With only five cars in the parking lot, we pretty much had the place to ourselves.
These little yellow flowers are blooming all over in the grass and while I looked at my field guide, I can’t decide what it is.
Beautiful red berries on a green leaved bush.
This yellow one was blooming near the above yellow flower, but there wasn’t nearly as many of these. I like how the shadow of the stamen shows in the picture.New York Aster
This picture is looking toward South Lake.
At the same spot as the South Lake picture, there was a dead tree. It was neat that all the dirt was gone from the roots, so the root structure was visible.
A walk at North Lake isn’t complete without a picture of Alligator Rock.
The view from the Mountain House site. I was surprised at how hazy the valley looked–definitely not a good day for pictures up there.
Beautiful day!
