Wes, Andrew and I took a ride to Chatham yesterday to visit the quilt shop, Foofsique. I had a discount card to use and the shop is going out of business, (much to my distress) so everything is 40% off. I found the backing I needed and Andrew found a fabric printed with strawberries that he fell in love with, carrying the bolt all over the store. I bought enough to make him two pillowcases. He wouldn’t let the shopkeeper put the fabric in a bag, insisting on carrying it to the car himself and sat with it on his lap.
We left the store, looking for a park to have our picnic lunch and ended up in the center of Kinderhook, where there was picnic tables and a cannon to perch on. Andrew also made two new friends, but they couldn’t tell him their names.
We stopped in the park in Catskill by the Hudson where there’s a great playground that Andrew enjoyed a lot, especially since he was the only kid there. We picked up Natasha at her bus stop and headed home where he took a little rest on the kitchen stools, while I cut the fabric for his pillowcases.
He was so pleased when they were finished that he insisted on hugging them and
also insisted I put the strawberry one on a pillow so he could try it out.
Doesn’t he look comfy?
What a kid! He is so pleased with his new pillowcase! You just want to hug him!
