Meeting Leslie every weekday morning at 7am has been tough in October. The sun rises shortly after 7 and it’s still very dark when we start walking. So dark, that I bought myself a fluorescent salmon colored jacket to alert all the drivers that I’m out there.
The top picture was taken at 7, just as I was leaving my house and the second picture at 8. It was lighter, finally. Notice the moon in the center and the sun on the mountains. The sun seems to reach our yard later than the other houses on the circle. It was just peeking through at 8:15 and making the yellow leaves glow.
I’m back at work on my Farm Girl blocks. This is pinwheel and I was well acquainted with Jack the Ripper by the time I finished it.
This block is postage stamp. The squares are cut 1 1/2 inches, so they finish 1 inch. I only did one block, but there are entire quilts made of squares this size. It’s a lot of cutting and piecing, but it is so adorable. I must be nuts to be even thinking about it.
