Natasha came home from school yesterday all excited about what they were working on in art class. She explained they were making Pilgrim dollies from felt, round topped clothespins, string, and glue. I pulled out the clothespins (we had used some to make parachutes with bandannas last summer), my glue gun and I let Tasha and Andrew pick fabric instead of felt for the clothes. Andrew lost interest after I wouldn’t let him use the glue gun and moved on to Play Doh, so I finished the hair on his, while Natasha invented the baby buggy, for her dolly. She then wrote up all the instructions and made a copy, one to give her teacher and one to keep. She’s planning on taking her dollies to school to show the art teacher too.
I love when kids are so inspired by something they did in school that they want to repeat the experience at home. I also think Natasha is going to grow up to be a crafter and that makes my heart unbelievably happy.
Natasha is such a little sweetheart! Jill you are a very patient Grandma.
