After finishing our Christmas shopping on Monday, Wes and I stopped in Bread Alone on 9W for lunch. They are only open for breakfast and lunch, but both menus are available for both meals. Wes ordered the French toast, and it came as four huge pieces with sides of maple syrup, cinnamon butter and Greek yogurt. He could only eat two pieces and brought the rest home. Raven enjoyed it very much.
My sandwich was hummus, sweet potato, red pepper, olive tapenade, watercress, and preserved lemon on an organic multigrain ciabatta bread. The sandwich was absolutely delicious and so stuffed full of good ingredients, I couldn’t finish it either. I ended up eating the filling off the second half and leaving most of the bread.
Bread Alone is also a bakery and the breads and treats for sale look wonderful. We were too full to eat dessert, but enjoyed looking at the choices.
We will definitely go back. There’s lots more on the menu we want to try.
