Wes and I went caroling last night with our neighbors in our neighborhood. We sang at about ten houses. At one, we were invited in for a glass of Bailey’s Irish Cream (the kids were given hot chocolate) and then we continued on our way, warmed from the inside. After we finished singing, we trekked to Jeanne’s house. She had invited everyone for a buffet dinner. There was a hot chicken corn chowder, baked ham, macaroni and cheese, pineapple dressing, and several other salads and side dishes, all delicious. Wes and I don’t know many of our neighbors, so it’s fun to meet and chat with people we only usually wave to.
Everyone was given a number for a drawing and Wes’ number was pulled for a homemade cookie basket. There was a list of the 18 kinds in the basket with notes on which had alcohol and which had nuts. We sampled when we arrived home, but put most of them away to enjoy over Christmas week. It’s fun tasting someone else’s homemade cookies and seeing what they make. We will enjoy this basket very much. Thanks, Jeanne!
