Thursday afternoon, Wes and I took a walk through the village visiting the antique stores. We are looking for some kind of a cabinet for a corner in the kitchen. It could be an actual kitchen cabinet with a counter top (purchased from Lowes) or an antique dresser with deep drawers. We’re not sure what we want to put there, but will know when we see it, I hope. It was fun searching through all the cast-offs, junk, and antiques. We ended up at a new antique store at the junction of 32 and 32A. I found a few things I wanted to buy, but no cabinet. This Corningware piece is a pattern I hadn’t seen before and I fell in love with it. It was very dirty and stained, but I used my magic potion (vinegar mixed with blue Dawn) and now it sparkles like it’s brand new. It’s a lovely 1 1/2 quart casserole that will get a lot of use in our kitchen. Wes just shakes his head and mutters, “We’re supposed to be downsizing.”
Pretty. This is why I limit my visits to Homegoods.
