When Cathy and I went to the Lake George quilt retreat for the first time, Patti, the retreat coordinator, showed me a flannel quilt with a wool batting that she had made. It was love at first touch. I have never felt such a soft, cuddly, warm, quilt and I had to make one. So began the great flannel hunt. Instead of buying lots of different flannel pieces, I wanted to buy what is called a layer cake, which is one coordinated fabric collection cut in 10 inch squares and sold as a group of 40 or so. I figured that many squares, sewn together and bordered, would be the perfect size.
This quilt is the result of my searching and stitching. It’s warm and cozy, perfect for snuggling with a book, a cat, and a cup of tea.
PS I’m still struggling with the blog posts on my iPad.. I can’t figure out how to separate my writing so there’s a paragraph under each picture and it’s making me nuts. Please bear with me.
Happy Valentines Day to all.
Stay warm—-I know I will!
Comfy cozy! Happy Valentines Day to you!
