On Sunday, while we were watching Timothy’s soccer game, April mentioned that the hill and woods we were facing had several marked walking trails. We immediately made plans to walk there on Wednesday.
There were some really steep parts, reminiscent of the trails at North Lake.
But, the view from the top was pretty cool. Here we are overlooking the ice arena.
A bit farther up the trail, we had a good view of the Jr/Sr High School campus.
The paths aren’t long. Runkeeper on my iPhone, recorded my walk as about 1.5 miles and we covered a lot of trails, both marked and unmarked, while walking that distance. The woods are extremely clean, only one beer bottle to be found on the entire walk, but there was mud, from yesterday’s rain, and the ever present dog poop, to skirt. The trail is worth the climb though, if only to see Saugerties from a slightly different perspective.
