April is trying to get Timothy to expand his repertoire from only white bread to whole grain.  He wasn’t being receptive to the idea at all until we asked him asked him if he’d like to try making bread. April found a recipe for a basic white bread and we substituted white whole wheat flour for half the plain white flour.  Timothy did all the measuring, mixing, kneading, and shaped the loaves after the first rising.

Enjoying the product

He couldn’t wait to taste it when it was done baking and pronounced it delicious.  We will slowly increase the amount of whole wheat flour.  Sometimes, parents  (and grand-parents) have to be a bit subversive.
