Bonnie, Ann and I attended the Country Living Fair in Rhinebeck yesterday. Rain showers were predicted, but with the exception of a few sprinkles, we had cool, dry weather. It seemed there were more vendors this year or maybe we just examined everything more closely so it took us longer. These little chickens were so cute, perfect for perching on a windowsill.
Several vendors had wooden stars constructed from slats of wood– so simple, but so nice.
At $20 each, these Dresden plate quilt blocks were way overpriced, but still fun to look at and wonder why the original quilt maker didn’t finish the quilt.
Using recycled jeans, these pillows are sturdy, yet soft, as the fabric had been washed numerous times. I took several other pictures of pillows for the ideas. The fair is for inspiration, as well as shopping.
Beautiful pottery with a glaze I hadn’t seen before.
Even though we tried, we didn’t see everything, but still managed to do our fair share of shopping. I came home with a beautiful bowl, big enough for rising bread, in the same design as one that was my Mom’s, that Bonnie has. Now we both own one. The fair is a trip down memory lane and and also a chance to hold on to a piece of the past.
Looks like a fun day!
