On Saturday, Wes and I hosted a book signing party for Corey’s Field Guide to Birds of New York book. About 35 people came, chatted, ate, and presented books to Corey for his signature.
Jonathan put his EZ up canopy on the deck to let the overflow of people outside and the rest mingled inside, avoiding the pouring rain.
April was an enormous help with the party preparations–cooking and washing more than her share of dishes. Wes and I couldn’t have done it without her.
After everyone left, we held a different kind of party–Jessica turned 22. April and I had made a chocolate cake/cookie dough filling/ice cream cake which was a beast to cut. We had a good laugh over the two broken knives and the effort involved in serving the cake. Everyone said it was delicious though, so it was all worth it.
Having my family here-priceless.
