Cathy and I drove to Schenectady yesterday to a quilt show in Proctor’s Theatre. While the quilts were lovely, the lighting was awful. Bright lights glared down from high ceilings, distorting the colors and shone brightly in our eyes. Cathy says next year she’s wearing a baseball cap to cut down on the glare.
We did enjoy the vendors though, leaving a bit of money behind. I bought a new ruler that cuts curves. The vendor demonstrated the ruler’s uses and since I’m a sucker for a new gadget, it came home with me. I also bought a new pair of extremely sharp and pointy scissors.
We stopped at Log Cabin. Quilt shop in Selkirk on the way home. We both bought a yard of birch printed fabric for a project we are building the fabrics for and we signed up for a block of the month using reproduction Civil War fabrics. I also bought two patterns– a small butterfly wall hanging and an embroidery pattern.
That’s it for this week, but there’s another quilt show next weekend.
You will be busy!
