The Elephant Ears were done in by the hard frost on Friday night. Wes dug them all up Sunday afternoon, I trimmed the leaves and roots off,
and I lined them up on the deck to dry for a few days. Once they’re dry, I’ll put them in a paper bag and hang it in the cellar. The two biggest bulbs were kind of squishy and we’re hoping they will be okay to plant next spring. To be safe, they will be put in a separate bag, so if they do rot, they won’t effect the other ones.
The avocado did survive the frost, so Wes potted it to bring inside. It was kind of droopy last night, so I don’t have high hopes for it. We could always plant another one. The way I go through avocados, we could plant a whole farm.
