Saturday afternoon, Wes and I baked Joe Froggers. I have no idea where the name of these cookies came from. The recipe is one my mom found years ago and they have been a regular in our Christmas cookie assortment for years. They are a molasses spice cookie that is an easy to handle dough and the recipe makes a lot. While I rolled and cut the cookies, Wes decorated. He got a bit creative with some decorations, and as a result there are a few Cyclops gingerbread men.
We stacked the waiting-to-be-baked cookie sheets to save space in the kitchen.
Because I remembered to snap a picture at the very end, this is the last bit of dough to be rolled, and after rolling a dough consisting of 8 1/2 cups of flour, I was glad to be done.
A view of some of the cooling cookies.
It smelled wonderful in here all afternoon. The rollouts are done. On Monday we move on to shaped cookies.
Look wonderful! I
