Sunday afternoon, April, Jessica, Raven, Timothy, Natasha, Andrew, and I braved the chill and went to Christmas in the Village.

Making snowflakes

The Hudson Valley Dessert Co. invited children in to decorate and take home a cookie.  The picture above is the three kids making a pipe cleaner snowflake which was a quick project that came out very cute.

Afternoon snack

We stopped for a quick snack and hot chocolate for some of us at Cue, where there was several craft vendors too. Macaroni tree
We visited the library to see the Festival of Trees. Everyone was given a ballot to vote on their favorite.  Almost everyone in our group voted for this tree, made of painted or dyed macaroni.

Natasha and Santa

We saw Santa in the Kiersted House

Timothy and Santa

And all the kids told him what they wanted for Christmas.

Andrew and Santa

I caught Andrew making a funny face on Santa’s lap.  Maybe it was a reaction to his eyebrows.

Natasha and her new bike

For Timothy and Natasha, the best part of the afternoon may have been the toy drawing.  Eighteen thousand dollars worth of toys were given away in the drawing sponsored by Sawyer Motors and they both won bikes!

Every year the Christmas in the Village is a little bigger and better. This was the best one yet.
