After the shock and disbelief of the election, then the surrealness of the inauguration, it was wonderful to march, chant, and demonstrate with 500,000 like minded people on Saturday.
Bonnie, Katie, Laura, and I boarded a bus at 2:30am on Saturday morning for the six hour trip to Washington. After an hour wait to board the Metro train and an hour ride (usually takes about 25 minutes, but took longer due to the extra trains and people) we joined thousands of like minded people in the heart of Washington for the march.
Before the march, moving around was very difficult as the people were packed thisclose, but we persevered until we met up with Nancy and her group.
Reading everyone’s signs and seeing others’ perspectives on what they felt was important to share was eye opening and thought provoking.
Signs were angry, funny, snarky, and hopeful…….
