When I heard the icy weather report for Tuesday, I figured we wouldn’t be going out, for part of the day at least, until it warmed up and changed to rain. It was a good time to get Valentine cookies baked. I made my old stand-by–Cookie Monster cookie dough–adding red food coloring gel to make red hearts. I thought the gel would be strong enough to overcome, the yellow from the butter and eggs dough, but it wasn’t.
My cookies dough, and the the baked cookies, came out an interesting shade of orange.
How about starting a new color tradition for Valentines Day?
