After packing (stuffing) all our sewing items and our suitcases in Cathy’s jeep, we traveled home Sunday afternoon. We stopped to check out the new quilt retreat venue for 2018, a Hyatt Hotel in Malta. It has a much bigger room and everyone will have their own table to spread out on. We’ll attend one more retreat at the Landmark Inn in November, as we’re already booked for that, then switch to the Hyatt. It’s closer to home too. We’ll only have to travel to exit 12 on the Northway instead of exit 17.
We had a wonderful time, but we were both looking forward to sleeping in our own beds.
The little wall hanging pictured above is something I had ready to sew for about five years and never got to it. It took all of 20 minutes to appliqué the window sashing down and another half hour to hand sew the binding.
The second one doesn’t have the binding sewn down yet, giving it the wavy edges.
When I talked to Wes while I was away, he told me that the crocuses would be blooming when I got back. Aside from him, that was the best thing to come home to!
Beautiful. I love to see what you are working on and the finished product. Nice to go away and nice to come home!
